Simon Aron is Of Counsel in the law firm of Wolf, Rifkin, Shapiro, Schulman & Rabkin, LLP. He is an accomplished trial practitioner having appeared before the Bankruptcy Courts of the Central, Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of California, as well as before the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition, Mr. Aron has appeared in numerous bankruptcy cases and related proceedings throughout the United States.

  • In re: Family Health Services, Inc., trial and/or appellate counsel for the Commissioners of Insurance for the States of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Nebraska, Texas and Wisconsin in connection with the “Maxicare” Chapter 11 cases pending in Central District of California, and, particularly the jurisdiction of the bankruptcy courts over state regulated health maintenance organizations; see, Id., 101 B.R. 618 (Bankr. C.D. Cal. 1989), reversed 143 B. R. 232 (C.D. Cal. 1992)
  • First Federal Savings Bank of Rogers, Arkansas v. Gordon Gunn, 111 B.R. 291 (9th Cir. BAP 1990), reversing order of Bankruptcy Court for abuse of discretion in denying motion to amend complaint to state further causes of action for denial of discharge and nondischargeability of debt
  • In re: Waterways Barge Partnership, before United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Mississippi. Trial counsel to debtor in Chapter 11 case. Plan confirmation denied 104 B.R. 776 (Bankr.ND.Miss. 1989), but subsequent consensual plan confirmed
  • In re Choo (Golden, Trustee v. Chicago Title Insurance Company, successfully defended action by trustee to invalid judgment liens on numerous parcels of real property. Then successfully objected to motion by trustee to surcharge collateral under 11 U.S.C. §506(c), which decision was affirmed by the Bankruptcy Appel late Panel. In re Kelly Choo (Jeffrey I. Golden v. Chicago Title Insurance Com pany, 273 B.R. 608 (BAP 9th Cir. 2002)
