Don Springmeyer and the WRSSR Environmental Practice Group win significant victory in the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals for the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe in Nevada.

The Environmental Practice Group, led by Don Springmeyer, obtained from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit a significant victory for client the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe in Nevada, confirming a lower court award in favor of the Tribe of 200,000 acre feet of Truckee River water, and adding what will likely be another 150,000 acre feet to the award.

Oxford University Press selects Charles J. Harder to edit new legal practice guide on Entertainment Litigation

Oxford University Press recently selected our litigation partner, Charles J. Harder, to edit a new legal practice guide on Entertainment Litigation. Scheduled for release in 2010, the multi-volume set will cover all major topic areas including right of publicity, right of privacy, First Amendment, defamation, anti-SLAPP, profit participation/audit claims, copyright and trademark matters, Talent Agencies Act and guild proceedings, Internet and new media issues, and related topics.

Steven Zidell updates chapter in Organizing Corporations in California (3rd edition)

Steven Zidell, a partner in our Los Angeles office, has updated a chapter in Organizing Corporations in California (3rd edition), published by the Continuing Education of the Bar, California. The chapter is entitled "Alter Ego and Adequate Capitalization". It deals with factors courts consider when a creditor or plaintiff seeks to hold the shareholders of a corporation personally liable for debts of the corporation. A similar analysis applies to members of limited liability companies.
