Heidy Vaquerano Elected to the SXSW Pitch Advisory Board for 2019

Entertainment, intellectual property and technology attorney, Heidy Vaquerano was elected to be a part of the South by Southwest pitch Advisory Board for 2019.

Members of the Advisory Board are thought leaders that are chosen for their industry expertise in the tech sphere to evaluate applications from different companies looking to pitch their ideas at the annual SXSW Accelerator Pitch Event.

 This event will feature 50 Interactive technology companies from 10 different categories. These companies will pitch, followed by a Q&A with the selected panel of judges. Twenty-five companies will be featured on Saturday, March 9 and the remaining twenty-five companies on Sunday, March 10. On March 10 at 7pm the winner will be announced in each category.

The winning prizes include two Platinum registrations for SXSW 2020, various SXSW Pitch sponsor gifts and the opportunity to receive exposure to the SXSW audience looking out for the latest in cutting-edge technology.

Of the 453 companies who participated in SXSW Pitch between 2009 and 2018, over 71% received funding, with combined funding in excess of almost $5.43 billion (does not include undisclosed grants, angel and seed funding). Of these 453 companies, 16% have been acquired by the likes of Google, British Telecom, Huffington Post, Apple, Live Nation, OpenTable, Constant Contact, and Harmon. Some of the alumni of this event include Klout, Hipmunk, Wildfire, Tubemogul, Siri, Foodspotting, and Tango.

Entertainment and Intellectual Property Attorney Heidy Vaquerano Chosen to Moderate Panel For WiSTEM L.A

On September 15, 2018, Entertainment and Intellectual Property attorney Heidy Vaquerano will be moderating the panel discussion, “Women at the Intersections of STEM, Culture and Entertainment,” from 11:35 p.m. to 12:00  p.m. PST for an event hosted by the mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti. This discussion is set to focus on the way that women leaders are using STEM ( science, technology, engineering, and math) to interact with and influence culture, art, and entertainment.
