Ross E. Winn is a partner at the firm working primarily in the areas of estate planning, tax, and business law. Through his multi-disciplinary approach, he assists clients with all aspects of estate and income tax planning, business planning, probate and trust law. Individual clients consist of owners of family businesses, corporate executives, entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals. Business clients include the family businesses referred to above, nationwide service companies, real estate companies, and other for profit and not for profit entities.

Areas of Practice
Estate, Gift and Income Tax Planning

  • Assists individuals and families in the creation of gift and estate plans that facilitate the transfer of family wealth at reduced tax and administrative costs. Aids clients in the review, selection and implementation of appropriate gift and estate planning vehicles, as well as liquidity planning to provide for the payment of death taxes and administrative costs through optimal use of gifts, tax credits, marital deduction, life insurance and charitable giving

Family Business and Succession Planning

  • Works closely with clients to create and coordinate integrated business succession plans that meet the emotional and economic desires of the client while minimizing transfer tax and other costs. Encourages communication and interaction with clients, to clearly define client’s objectives, provide guidance, counsel, address legal issues, and create effective succession plans that meet client’s needs. Works closely with client’s other advisors utilizing his experience as a former practicing Certified Public Accountant to interact with client’s existing CPA and other professionals

Trust and Probate Administration

  • Provides comprehensive probate and trust administration services, as well as preparation of complex Federal Estate Tax Returns. Assists client and client’s accountants in determining appropriate post mortem tax elections

General Transactional Business

  • Assists in establishing a business structure that will function as a platform for growth and prosperity. Assists business owners in focusing on the material issues of the business. Utilizes tax, business and practical experience to complete transactions promptly and solve problems in an efficient manner
