Leslie Steven Marks is a litigation partner with Wolf, Rifkin, Shapiro, Schulman & Rabkin, LLP and manages the litigation department. Mr. Marks’ practice areas include construction, real estate and business litigation. Mr. Marks is an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the Contractors’ State License Board (CSLB). Mr. Marks frequently lectures on real estate and construction law to the CSLB and numerous trade and non-profit organizations. He has also published several articles on related topics.

Areas of Practice
Real Estate and Commercial Litigation

  • Construction Defect Litigation – representing community associations, homeowners and commercial owners in prosecuting construction defect claims
  • Mechanic’s Liens – prosecuting and defending mechanic’s lien claims on behalf of contractors and owners
  • Mold Claims – advising community associations and individual homeowners in connection with mold related bodily injury and property damage claims
  • Purchase/Sale – representing buyers, sellers and brokers in cases arising from residential, commercial and industrial real estate transactions
  • Property Disputes – counseling parties involved in boundary disputes, eminent domain cases, as well as surety and secured real estate transactions
  • CLSB and Administrative Proceedings – advising licensed contractors in connection with CSLB enforcement proceedings
  • Business Disputes – representing individuals, small to mid-sized corporations, partnerships, sole proprietors and homeowner associations in cases involving monetary damages and injunctive relief

  • Arbitrator – AAA Construction and Commercial Panel; CSLB
  • Mediator – serving as private mediator on construction, real estate and business disputes
